President Hu visit to promote bilateral relations

Pakistani Federal Cabinet Wednesday said that the historic visit of the Chinese President Hu Jintao to Pakistan will give further impetus to promote bilateral relations in different fields.

Briefing newsmen, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Muhammad Ali Durrani said that the signing of Free Trade Agreement (FTA) and establishment of China Specific Investment Zone at Lahore will give great boost to trade and economic relations between the two countries.

The Cabinet greatly appreciated that world's fastest growing market of China opening for Pakistani exports, said Durrani.

He urged Pakistani manufacturer to leverage their full potential to benefit from the opportunity.

The Cabinet appreciated the signing of development cooperation agreement, which will bring the two countries further closer by promoting cooperation in development in economic sector.

It also appreciated that cooperation between the two countries in defence, energy and trade and investment, said Durrani, adding that people to people contact will help a great deal in cementing the already existing very cordial and friendly relations between Pakistan and China.

Durrani said Pakistan and China are cooperating in energy sector, including nuclear energy, and this cooperation will continue in the positive direction.
