29 cooperation projects signed between Huzhou and Shanghai

The“Connecting Huzhou with Shanghai”Week, which is held every two years, was inaugurated today in Shanghai. A total of 29 cooperation projects were signed in such fields as science and technology, foreign investment, agriculture, tourism and talents, involving¥0.72 billion domestic investment,¥0.317 billion contracted foreign investment, and¥0.149 billion contracts for the supply of agricultural products to Shanghai.

Huzhou, attempting to connect itself with Shanghai, has actively participated in the cooperation and exchanges in the Yangtze River delta in recent years. At present, Huzhou attracts from Shanghai a yearly average of over 40 domestic invested industrial projects. The amount of contracted funds averages¥2 billion, which accounts for 15% of the contracted domestic investment of the whole city. The yearly supply of agricultural products to Shanghai exceeds¥4 billion in value, taking up about 40% of the gross agricultural output value of the city. Tourists from Shanghai account for over one third of all the tourists to Huzhou. Over 40 sci-tech cooperation projects are signed every year between Huzhou and colleges, universities and institutes in Shanghai, involving about¥80 million funds in total.

Present at the opening ceremony were Ge Shengping, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Zhejiang Provincial People’s Congress, Zhang Shengkun, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Shanghai Municipal People’s Congress, Xie Lijuan, Vice Chairman of the Shanghai Municipal CPPCC, and Yang Yuhuan, Vice Chairman of the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese and Chairman of the Shanghai Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese.
