| A staff worker helps transfer the body of the suspect shot dead by
local police to the ambulance in Huxian County, northwestern China's
Shaanxi Province, in the wee hours on October 24, 2006. A man
suspected of ransacking a local company was gunned down by a pair of
police officers who had arrived at the scene upon report. Resisting
arrest, the gang reportedly drove their van towards
the police who thereafter shot down the one at
the wheel. The rest of the gang fled away.
