A 24-year-old girl surnamed Chen stabbed her own neck to commit suicide after her fiance decided to postpone their wedding ceremony in Guangzhou's Baiyun District on Tuesday.

Chen had decided to hold a wedding ceremony with her fiance surnamed Li on the National Day, But Li decided to delay their wedding ceremony because he had failed to raise enough money for the wedding banquet in late September.

Unable to accept her fianc's decision, Chen used a kitchen knife to chop her neck at home on Tuesday. She died of excessive blood loss after being sent to hospital.
