Lien expects Taiwan, Yunnan to boost agricultural co-op

KUNMING -- Visiting Chinese Kuomintang (KMT) Honorary Chairman Lien Chan said here Wednesday that Taiwan and Yunnan Province can strengthen cooperation in agriculture and many other areas.

Yunnan has a good environment and rich natural resources, and its agriculture and industry are experiencing vigorous development, said Lien during a meeting with Bai Enpei, secretary of the Yunnan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China.

Lien said that he and his delegation would promote the cooperation between Taiwan and Yunnan in agriculture and other areas through their visit.

They would encourage Taiwan business people to invest in Yunnan, Lien said.

Bai said that it would contribute to the common prosperity and growth of Yunnan and Taiwan for the two sides to enhance exchanges and cooperation.

Lien will also visit Yunnan's Shilin, Dali and Lijiang.
