A young man who took a young woman hostage in downtown
Taiyuan city, capital of north China's Shanxi Province was subdued by local police September
13,2006. The hostage, slightly injured in one hand, was rescued. The cause
for the kidnapper's extreme action is still under investigation. [newsphoto]
