A female college graduate in Wuhan of Hubei Province has quit a job with a salary of 3,000 yuan (US$370) and turned to shoe polishing in the street.

Xiao Juan graduated from Wuhan University of Technology with a speciality in securities. She had been employed by a financial company in Wuxi of Jiangsu Province, but quit that job on August 23 and returned to Wuhan to work as a shoe polisher in the street.

"I'm inspired by a client of my company in Wuxi he makes bottle stoppers and each piece can earn a little money, but he makes the business excellent and has earned 50 million yuan (US$6.1 million)," said Xiao Juan.

"I started this small job to gain experience. If I can be skilled at shoe polishing and repairing, I can run a shoe-repair company some day."
