Xiamen, Fujian -- Corporation leaders from two sides of the
Taiwan Straits and academicians have reached a consensus that the
mainland and Taiwan should be supplementary to each other and further reinforce
all-round co-operation at the first cross-Strait brand forum in Xiamen, July 11,
2006.
In order to grace the Xiamen stop of the Chinese Brand Promotion tour, the
forum accomodates entrepreneurs and experts addressing and exchanging ideas on
brand building and protection.
Zeng Wenqi, Taiwan-based Bequ's sales manager in charge of the mainland
market, said brand building varied in corporations of Taiwan and the mainland.
Both have its own merits and defects, Zeng added, the mainland has a rich
talent pool as more than three million graduates hit the market each year, while
Taiwan has accumulated useful experiences.
"As long as Taiwan and the mainland beef up mutual communication and
cooperation, both would benefit from the closer ties by enhanced competence in
the world market," Zeng said
His idea was echoed by Professor Zhang Guoyou, vice president of Peking
University at the forum.
"The brand serves as a symbol of certain quality," Zhang said, "The unique
cultural background has played a crucial role to achieve a high-quality and
competent brand name. So the common cultural background and Chinese identity are
definitely the strong momentum of brand establishing of enterprises both in
Taiwan and the mainland."
