China's Hisense to inject assets into HK's Kelon (Reuters) Updated: 2006-07-06 15:43
Hisense, one of China's top home appliance makers, plans to inject its
refrigerator and air-conditioning businesses into its Hong Kong-listed Kelon
unit, an executive said on Thursday.
Hisense bought the troubled South China-based appliance maker earlier this
year. It wants to use Kelon's Hong Kong listing to gain access to foreign
capital markets.
"This is definitely something we will do," Hisense vice president Cheng
Kaixun told Reuters in an interview in the company's headquarters in the coastal
city of Qingdao.
"We hope to do this by year-end, but there are lots of procedures we have to
go through."
