Shuozhou launched its second network cultural festival Friday, the same day on which Internet media reporters from across the country visit the city.

Local government officials and media representatives from influential net media like Xinhuanet.com and Sina.com attend a ceremony held on the city's central square.

Shuozhou, home to a good number of big coal mines, is in Central China's Shanxi Province, north to the provincial capital city of Taiyuan and south to another mining base Datong.

Speech and singing contest on the subject of Internet use would be held during the festival.

A business network is also supposed to be improved as the base to enhance the information exchange between local enterprises and outside world.
