Night view of Grand Canal attracts many

Thousands of local citizens and tourists visited new landscape along the Ancient Canal on April, 16.

Husbands and wives, senior citizens and children walked along the banks of the Canal, in leisure. As "2006 Flowery March International Economy, Trade and Tourism Festival" is round the corner, local citizens have already been involved in the festive atmosphere.

“I can see changes taking place in the city every day. And I know a more beautiful Yangzhou will bring in more foreign investment. Local development will benefit us all”, said Mr. Sun Baojin, a local resident whose family have been living at Dongguan Street for generations.
