SHANGHAI: French food and beverage maker Groupe Danone SA said yesterday that the chairman of its joint ventures with Wahaha, China's largest beverage producer, resigned on Wednesday amid a dispute that has damaged a 10-year partnership.

Danone's acquisition of Wahaha has aroused attention from the Chinese authority. Wang Xinpei, spokesman with the Ministry of Commerce, said that China had implemented regulations on foreign acquisitions of Chinese enterprises and the minsitry would act accordingly.
