China ranks top ten gold producing cities/counties

The China Gold Association has ranked the country's top 10 gold producing cities and counties in 2010.

Among the list are the cities of Zhaoyuan, Laizhou and Penglai in east Shandong province, Shanghang county in southeast Fujian province and Lingbao city and Songxian county in central Henan province, said Cui Dewen, vice prescient of the association, at a ceremony held in Zhaoyuan, dubbed as China's Gold capital, on Sunday.

Others are Zhenfeng County in southwest Guizhou province, Tongguan county in northwest Shaanxi province, Urad Middle Banner (county) in north Inner Mongolia autonomous region and Da Qaidam in northwest Qinghai province, said Cui.

Gold output of the ten cities and counties accounted for 30 percent of the national total of 340.88 tons in 2010, according to Cui.
