Execs die from pressure-caused diseases

Between January 2010 and July 2011, 19 executives of listed companies and famous enterprises in China died untimely deaths, the National Business Daily reported Tuesday.
While 63 percent of the 19 executives died from diseases, 21 percent committed suicide and the remainder died from accidents and murders, the newspaper reported.
According to the report, 11 deceased executives worked for listed companies. Cancer and heart disease were the main cause of death for 12 executives, including Wu Zheng, the former chief operating officer of BesTV New Media and Ding Mingliang, the founder and former chairman of Deerway.
Statistics show that the oldest of the 19 deceased executives was 68 years old and the youngest was 39, and the average age was 50, which is commonly recognized as a prime time of a man's career.
Research results from China Entrepreneur showed that 90.6 percent of entrepreneurs are on different levels of 'overworking'. Industry insiders told the reporter that Chinese entrepreneurs should change their values and live easier lives, the newspaper reported.
