Beijing to raise minimum wage standard by 10%

Beijing will raise the monthly minimum wage standard by 10 percent from the current 800 yuan ($117), starting this July, said officials of the Beijing Human Resources and Social Security Bureau Wednesday, Beijing News reported.

Gui Sheng, deputy director of the bureau, revealed the information during an online communication between the bureau’s officials and netizens.

The capital city will also release the adjusted guidelines for general wage raises this year. The new guidelines will be more concerned with the low-income group, the report said, citing the officials.
