Trade volume surged 2,500 times in 60 yrs

China's trade volume reached $2,561.63 billion in 2008, more than 2,500 times what it was sixty years ago, china.com.cn reported.

During the first half of 2009, the total value of China's exports narrowly passed Germany's, the world's leading exporter, according to World Trade Organization data this week. China's exports totaled $521.7 billion over the first six months of the year, a slightly larger figure than Germany's $521.6 billion.
