Huawei, ZTE sign deals with US companies

ZTE, a leading telecom equipment company, announced on Tuesday that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Procurement worth $5 billion with two US enterprises. Another big player in the industry, Huawei also announced purchase deals worth $6 billion with several US enterprises, the Beijing Times reported Wednesday.

ZTE has signed chip purchase deals with Qualcomn Co and Broadcom Co, stating it will purchase chips no less than $4 billion from Qualcomn from 2012 to 2015, and no less than $1 billion from Broadcom from 2012 to 2014, the report said.

Huawei has signed purchase agreements with Qualcomn, Broadcom, Avago and other firms, saying it will purchase parts and components worth $6 billion from these companies within a three year period.
