Yang Chenkui, a 44 year old farmer, drives down his overproduced radish to turn the crop into cheap manure on Dec 8, 2011 at Changmantang village of Lanxi city, East China’s Zhejiang province. One of the most distinguished local produce in the past 1000 years, the production of radish has seen an increase of 50 percent this year. However, overproduction has led to sluggish sales. As a result, local farmers have had to destroy the radish and turn to growing other vegetables to recoup losses.[Photo/CFP]
