HONG KONG--Hong Kong stocks gained 196.25 points, or 0.87 percent to close at 22,726.43 on Friday.

All the four sub-groups of the benchmark Hang Seng Index landed in the positive territory. Utilities and Commerce & Industry outperformed by rising over 1 percent.

Hang Seng China Enterprises Index, which tracks the so-called Hong Kong-listed mainland shares, went up 0.92 percent to 12,756. 32.
