2010 China Commodities Fair opens in Kazakhstan

ALMATY: The 2010 China Commodities Fair in Kazakhstan opened Monday at the Adakent Exhibition Center in Almaty, the biggest city of Kazakhstan.

The fair, organized by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, the Government of Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, will last for four days.

More than 200 enterprises from Xinjiang, Henan, Jiangsu and other Chinese provinces will participate in the fair. The commodities on exhibition include mechanical equipment, hardware, construction material, furniture, household appliances, tourism, food and many other areas.

At the opening ceremony, Vice Chairman of the People's Government of Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region Hu Wei said in his speech that the Xinjiang autonomous region has been attaching great importance to and committed to developing a friendly neighborly relationship with Kazakhstan over the years.

Chinese Ambassador to Kazakhstan Zhou Li expressed his belief that bilateral economic and trade cooperation will continue to expand and develop.

Deputy Mayor of Almaty city Serik Seidumanov said the cooperation between China and Kazakhstan in various fields has maintained good momentum.

The China Commodities Fair in Kazakhstan has been successfully held for seven times since 2003. It has become an important stage for economic and trade communications.
