Disney president vows to increase cooperation with China

BEIJING - Robert Iger, president and CEO of Walt Disney Co, said here Monday that his company would continue increasing cooperation with Chinese cultural and media circles.

"We value the market of China," Iger said during a meeting with Liu Yunshan, head of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee.

Iger also said that his company, taking the advantage of its global producing and marketing platform, would introduce more about China to the world.

Liu, also a member of the Political Bureau and the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee, expressed satisfaction with the fruitful cooperation between Disney and China over the years.

"Chinese government welcomes foreign companies to invest in the country and will offer sound environment and conditions for them," Liu said.

"We will push the cooperation between relevant Chinese departments with Disney, in line with the mutually-beneficial and win-win principles, so to promote Sino-foreign cultural exchange," said Liu.
