Chinese shares close slightly higher on Monday

BEIJING: Chinese equities closed slightly higher on Monday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index rose 0.22 percent, or 6.83 points, to close at 3,074.58 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index closed flat, or down 0.47 points, to end at 12,352.45 points.

Combined turnover stood at 195.34 billion yuan ($28.6 billion), down from 182.15 billion yuan on the previous trading day.

Gainers outnumbered losers by 532 to 318 in Shanghai and 571 to 301 in Shenzhen.
