Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao said Saturday that the Chinese government will build five million affordable houses and reconstruct two million shanty houses this year to ensure the healthy development of the country's property market.

Wen made the remark during an online chat with Internet users around the country and overseas at www.gov.cn and www.xinhuanet.com.
