Members of the Qingdao Shipowners Association will jointly invest 300 million yuan in establishing the Qingdao Shipowners Containers Distribution Center in Jiaozhou, East China's Shandong Province.

To be located in Jiaozhou Logistics Industrial Park and covering an area of 300 mu (20 hectares), the center will be built as a large logistics center integrating cargo warehousing, transportation, processing, distribution and international trade businesses.

Construction is expected to begin at the beginning of 2007. Initiated by the Qingdao Shipowners Association and co-established by over 90 percent of shipping enterprises in Qingdao, the center will mainly develop highway-railway combined transport and combined marine-railway traffic businesses.
