The Xinghe zipline will officially open on Jan 28 in Kaiyang county, Guizhou province, after drawing wide attention online during its trial runs. Videos of people zooming over fields and rooftops have become a sensation.
"Although it reaches high speeds, the view is very relaxing," said staff member Liang Guihao. His on-site clip posted to the short-video app Douyin has been viewed more than 4.6 million times.
The zipline is more than a kilometer long and has a designed top speed of 52 km/h, making it one of the longest and fastest ziplines in China.
