Arcfox has unveiled its first mid-to-large luxury MPV prototype at Auto Guangzhou, as the premium EV brand under BAIC Group advances in China's high-end vehicle market.

With the addition of the model, Arcfox will have a complete portfolio that covers sedans, SUVs and MPVs.

The debut comes as China's MPV market is undergoing structural realignment.
Sales reached 879,000 units in the first three quarters of 2025, up 26.3 percent year-on-year, outpacing overall passenger-vehicle growth.

New-energy MPV penetration has climbed above 66.5 percent, while household-oriented MPVs now account for 58 percent of the segment, reflecting a shift from business-fleet usage to multi-child and multi-generation family mobility.

Arcfox's prototype brings several technical firsts to an MPV. The vehicle features a magneto-rheological suspension system aimed at supercar-level handling, offering real-time damping adjustment for improved comfort on variable road conditions.

It also integrates an embedded ultra-strong anti-roll cage — raising A-pillar load capacity by 35 percent and B-pillar capacity by 70.5 percent — designed to enhance passenger-cabin integrity in collisions or rollovers.

The brand is leveraging what executives describe as a dual-gene approach of State-owned carmakers' manufacturing rigor plus NEV startups' user focus.
Thanks to the strategy, Arcfox has seen its sales rising. In October, the brand's sales surpassed 23,000 units, marking its third consecutive month of steep gains.

Cui Dongshu, secretary-general of the China Passenger Car Association, said the shift in the MPV market "creates new growth opportunities, with Chinese brands demonstrating technological progress and brand confidence."

Arcfox is expected to release the production version in 2026, which analysts said will open a lane in high-end electrified MPVs and accelerate its strategy to make advanced intelligent-vehicle technology broadly accessible.
