Passenger ferry service has been suspended on 60 routes in Guangdong as Typhoon Fung-wong is forecast to affect the province's eastern coastline.

Work on 60 offshore projects involving 100 engineering vessels has also been suspended, and 56 people working on an offshore wind farm project have been evacuated, according to a statement issued by the Guangdong Maritime Safety Administration on Tuesday afternoon.

Typhoon Fung-wong, the 26th named storm of the 2025 Pacific typhoon season, hit Luzon Island of the Philippines on Sunday. It is forecast to make a second landfall on the southwestern coast of Taiwan between Wednesday afternoon and evening.
