Han Xinyi, CEO of Ant Group, said artificial Intelligence will play a central role in the company's expanding healthcare strategy, as the fintech giant expands into health and medicine through its recent healthcare AI platform, known as AQ.

Speaking on Saturday at a parallel forum at the 2025 World Internet Conference in Wuzhen, Zhejiang province, Han said the company's newly established healthcare business group reflects a strategic shift toward using AI to address some of China's most pressing medical challenges, from chronic disease management to uneven access to quality care.

"With the AI platform AQ, we want to make it easier for people to see a doctor and live a healthier life," Han said.

According to Han, more than 500 million people in the country live with long-term health conditions, such as hypertension, diabetes, or cardiovascular disease, while the seniors and younger wellness-conscious groups alike are becoming increasingly conscious of preventive care and wellness.

AQ, launched in June, provides AI-assisted health information, consultation, and report analysis, and can create personal health records through active data collection and dialogue. It has quickly attracted over 10 million monthly active users, according to the company.

Ant Group has also teamed up with West China Hospital of Sichuan University on research into AI-supported chronic disease management, including lung conditions, aiming to bridge the gap between scientific research and clinical application.
