Work ongoing to facilitate Nexperia's operations in China: ministry
China has made diligent efforts to help semiconductor manufacturer Nexperia's unit in the country resume its supply, having promptly approved the relevant export license applications from Chinese exporters, and granted exemptions to eligible exports, the Ministry of Commerce said on Thursday.
He Yadong, a spokesman for the ministry, said during a news conference in Beijing that China's actions have been taken in a responsible manner to safeguard the stability and security of the global semiconductor supply chain.
He said that China hopes the Netherlands will, from the perspective of safeguarding the overall interests of China-Netherlands and China-EU economic and trade relations as well as the stability and security of the global industrial and supply chains, act in a responsible manner, work with China, stop interfering in the internal affairs of enterprises and seek a constructive solution to the Nexperia issue.
The Netherlands' improper interference in the internal affairs of Nexperia has caused turbulence and chaos in the global semiconductor supply chain, He added. Disregarding the reasonable demands put forward by China on multiple occasions during consultations, the Dutch government has failed to demonstrate a constructive attitude, and has even escalated the global supply chain crisis.
The Dutch side should bear full responsibility for this, the Ministry of Commerce spokesman said.
