Open China: Advancing South-South cooperation for global growth

"Open China", a 10-part video series produced by China Daily, delves into the profound transformations that have reshaped China over the past four more decades. Through interviews with more than 100 global opinion leaders — including diplomats, economists and business leaders — the series will highlight a unique aspect of China's dramatic journey into a new era.

This episode emphasizes China's significant contribution to deepening South-South cooperation. Through key initiatives such as the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and the Global Development Initiative (GDI), China has played a pivotal role in fostering economic growth, sustainability, and mutual benefit across the developing world.

Uruguay's former ambassador to China Fernando Lugris highlighted the breadth of this collaboration. "We visualized the cooperation between China and Latin American and Caribbean countries as a comprehensive strategic partnership with many different areas that we have been working on," Lugris said.
