Artificial intelligence and cyberattacks are accelerating the pace of conflicts, raising concerns about countries adopting "proactive defense" strategies.
Lora Saalman, a senior researcher at the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute in Sweden, made the remarks during an interview on the sidelines of the Beijing Xiangshan Forum.
She emphasized that in such conditions, there is less time for communication. Platforms like the Beijing Xiangshan Forum provide countries with a fair and trust-based venue to exchange views and better understand each other's positions, she noted.
