Chengdu showcases futuristic tech in run-up to World Games

More than 20 locally developed tech innovations were unveiled on Wednesday at the World Games Village in Chengdu, Sichuan province, ahead of the 2025 Chengdu World Games.
Among the highlights were two eye-catching humanoid robots from the Chengdu humanoid robot innovation center.
One, named "Tiangba", drew attention with its flexible neck movements and a large display screen showcasing Sichuan's cultural and tourism promotions.

"During the Chengdu World Games, Tiangba will join human performers in cheerleading dances and can quickly transform into local cultural icons like giant pandas or Sichuan opera masks using modular attachments," said Tian Min, the center's brand director.
The second robot, modeled after the mythical figure Nezha and named "Xiaozha", features a dual-wheeled design for high-speed mobility, mimicking the deity's signature "wind-fire wheels".
