The State Grid Jiaxing Power Supply Company has received official approval to establish the Distribution Digital Twin Task Force under the Power Equipment Digital Twin Working Group of the IEEE PES Transmission and Distribution Satellite Committee (China).

The company will focus on cutting-edge theoretical research across various domains, including the integration of planning, construction, and operation of polymorphic distribution networks, simulation and interaction of intelligent inspection scenarios, precision customer services, and multimodal renewable energy integration. It will also take the lead in developing IEEE and other technical standards, pushing the distribution network toward greater digitalization and intelligence.

Digital twin technology has emerged as a core driver of digital transformation in the power industry. To ensure high-quality progress in its technical endeavors, the State Grid Jiaxing has mobilized its internal resources and appointed a team of technical experts to form a dedicated task force.

This team is conducting in-depth studies on applying digital twin technology throughout the full lifecycle of distribution networks—from planning and construction to operation and maintenance.

By developing high-precision simulation models, the team has enabled real-time monitoring of equipment status, accurate fault location, and optimized maintenance strategies, significantly enhancing the efficiency and reliability of grid operations.

The establishment of this task force not only highlights the State Grid Jiaxing's technical leadership in distribution network digitalization but also contributes "Jiaxing wisdom" to the development of industry standards.

In the future, the State Grid Jiaxing will leverage this platform to deepen collaboration with universities, research institutions and industry partners, accelerating the application and promotion of digital twin technologies.

These efforts aim to provide robust support for building a new-type power system in China.
