Artistic swimming event in Macao brings together young, experienced athletes
MACAO -- The 2025 Artistic Swimming Elite Extravaganza & Macao Open Competition came to a close on Sunday at Macao's Olympic Sports Center.
The Sunday event featured 12 performances by China's National Artistic Swimming Team, alongside teams from Beijing and Guangdong.
Olympic champions Wang Liuyi and Wang Qianyi, the twins who claimed gold in the duet event at the 2024 Paris Olympics, shared memories of competing in similar open events when they were at the beginning of their professional careers.
Following the performance, a training session brought together athletes and coaches from the three teams for in-depth exchanges with Open participants on techniques, performance styles and training methods.
The Macao Open began on Friday and attracted around 200 young athletes from 18 teams, both local and international.
