The upcoming 2025 China (Guangdong)- ASEAN Trade Promotion and Supply Chain Cooperation Mechanism Development Coordination and Exchange Conference is poised to become a new platform for enhancing Guangdong province's economic ties with Southeast Asian countries.

Yao Xinmin, vice chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Guangdong Committee, stated that the event, scheduled to take place in Guangzhou, capital of Guangdong, on June 10, is one of the highest-level international conferences for cooperation between Guangdong and ASEAN in recent years.

Senior Sino-foreign government officials, experts, scholars, and business representatives from relevant fields will be invited to deliver keynote speeches and participate in thematic dialogues on key topics, including the construction of cooperation mechanisms, supply chain coordination, trade and investment opportunities and facilitation, and cross-border e-commerce cooperation, he said.

More than 600 government officials, entrepreneurs, business executives, consuls, heads of international organizations and business institutions, representatives from overseas Chinese and business communities, experts and scholars are expected to attend the event, which is hosted by the Guangdong provincial government."

They will explore further scope for co-operation during the event," said Yao.

Yao made the remarks at a news conference on Thursday.

Meanwhile, the event will feature two parallel conferences, including the China (Guangdong) - Indonesia Economic and Trade Exchange Conference and the China (Guangdong) - ASEAN Cross-border E-commerce Cooperation Exchange Conference. This will provide face-to-face communication opportunities for Sino-foreign officials and business representatives to promote transaction negotiations and expand exchanges and cooperation.

Guangdong, a global production hub, has established close economic and trade relations with ASEAN in recent years.
