Americans' approval of US President Donald Trump's economic stewardship remains low, as the administration's inconsistent tariff policies exacerbate global market volatility, according to Marquette University Law School's recent polling.
In a May survey, 37 percent of Americans approved of Trump's tariff policies, while 63 percent voiced their disapproval, according to media outlet Politico. Similarly, 34 percent approved of Trump's handling of inflation and the cost of living, with 66 percent remain critical.
Overall, the president's economic stewardship received a net -16 percentage point approval, with 42 percent in favor and 58 percent opposed.
