More than half of companies from the United States plan to increase their investments in China this year, according to the 2025 China Business Climate Survey Report released by the American Chamber of Commerce in China (AmCham China) on Thursday.

The survey, conducted from Oct 21 to Nov 15, 2024, involved a total of 368 member companies of AmCham China.

The study found that nearly half of the participants rank China as one of their top three global investment priorities.

However, concerns persist among these US companies as 51 percent of the surveyed companies were apprehensive about the potential worsening of the China-US economic relationship this year.

About 63 percent of enterprises surveyed viewed rising tensions in China-US relations as the top business challenge of US businesses in China, according to the report.

The survey found that about 87 percent of US respondents consider positive China-US relations essential for their operations in China, marking a 5 percentage point increase from 2023. In the technology, research and development sectors, this figure rose to as high as 95 percent.
