Recently, the Shandong Pan-China International Logistics Cross-border E-commerce Supervision Center was officially launched in Weihai, Shandong province, aiming to further facilitate operations for cross-border e-commerce business.

Located in the Weihai Economic Development Zone, the supervision center covers a total area of 3,760 square meters and features multiple functional areas such as loading and unloading, quarantine processing, as well as sorting, which are all managed under a closed-loop system.

"The center is the closest supervision center to Weihai Port, about a 5-minute drive away," said Hu Xiaohui, the person in charge of the Shandong Pan-China International Logistics Cross-border E-commerce Supervision Center. Hu added that the center, in collaboration with the adjacent logistics industrial park, offers integrated services including warehousing, customs clearance, booking, and loading and unloading, providing enterprises with one-stop services within the park.

The center is expected to further reduce the customs clearance costs for the industrial park and surrounding e-commerce enterprises while improving efficiency, serving as a significant driver for the development of the cross-border e-commerce industry in Weihai, he said.

The logistics industrial park is a specialized park created by the Weihai Economic Development Zone. To date, it has seen the landing of nine projects with a total investment exceeding 4 billion yuan, forming a complete industrial ecosystem and establishing itself as a distribution center for commodities from China, Japan, and South Korea, as well as an international hub for fresh produce imports.

Openness to the outside world has always been the theme of development for Weihai. With more than 1,100 foreign trade enterprises, it’s economic development zone's import and export trade volume has exceeded 50 billion yuan (6.9 billion) for two consecutive years, accounting for over 25 percent of the city's total, local government said.
