Honda unveils EVs on platform developed in China

Japanese carmaker Honda unveiled on Tuesday an all-new EV series it will introduce into the Chinese vehicle market later this year.

The Ye Series will be built on a dedicated EV platform developed in China and they will feature electrification technologies Honda has amassed over many years.

Honda will launch a total of six Ye models in China by 2027. The first two models, which are the Ye P7 and the Ye S7, are scheduled to go on sale later this year.

A concept model, called the Ye GT, was shown on Tuesday as well. Its production version will be available in 2025.

The Japanese carmaker is currently offering the e:N Series EV models in China. It said the all-new Ye Series models will be a new addition to the lineup.

Honda has set a global goal of realizing carbon neutrality for all products and corporate activities it is involved by 2050.

Starting with the introduction of the e:NP1 and e:NS1 models in 2022, Honda is planning to introduce a total of 10 Honda-brand EV models in China by 2027. All of its sales in China will be electric by 2035, said Honda.
