China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Haikou Sub-council and the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce jointly hosted a conference on Italy-Haikou Economic and Trade Cooperation in Haikou on Saturday, the first day of the fourth China International Consumer Products Expo.

About 100 representatives from Italian trade agencies, as well as members of the Italian and Haikou business communities have attended the conference with the common goals of furthering economic and trade exchanges and two-way investment between both sides.

At the event, China-Italy Chamber of Commerce, Haikou International Investment Promotion Bureau, the Longhua District government, Haikou Comprehensive Bonded Zone and Haikou Fullsing Internet Industrial Park introduced Haikou's preferential policies and business environment.

Renzo Isler, secretary-general of China-Italy Chamber of Commerce, said that they can explore cooperation with Haikou in the catering industry, fashion industry, jewelry processing, high-tech and other sectors in the future.

"Italy is a global leader in automobile manufacturing, biomedicine, aerospace and the fashion industry. Similarly, Haikou has set its sights on developing a modern industrial system with a focus on advanced manufacturing, modern services, biomedicine and the headquarters economy. This strategic alignment presents a wealth of opportunities for collaboration and mutual growth between the two regions," said Chen Zhengcan, director of CCPIT Haikou Sub-council.
