The Ilha Solteira Hydroelectric Power Plant exhibition hall in Sao Paulo, Brazil, recently opened to the public, attracting students who visited to learn about the plant's history. CTG Brasil, a subsidiary of Chinese power company China Three Gorges, runs the power plant.

The exhibition hall showcases the plant's construction history, educating the public about the principles of hydroelectric power generation to increase public awareness of clean energy. It displays the safety equipment used during the initial construction, technical information related to its construction, and CTG Brasil's commitment to benefiting the local community.

In the middle of the exhibition hall is a giant book. Visitors can turn the pages to learn about energy. In addition, it is equipped with two stationary bicycles, encouraging visitors to witness the process of electricity generation by pedaling.

Located on the Parana, the second largest river in South America, the hydroelectric power plant has a total installed capacity of 3.44 million kilowatts. Its construction began in 1968, and the first unit was put into operation in 1973.

In 2016, CTG Brasil obtained a 30-year concession for the operation of the power plant, and in 2017, it began a large-scale technological renovation to revitalize the generating units.
