SAIC's electric marque IM Motors began pre-sales of its L6 sedan in Shanghai on Monday, which features a range of cutting-edge technologies.

The electric sedan is equipped with the Lingxi digital chassis, making the model the first domestically-produced car in China capable of "crab walking". This feature addresses the common pain of parking by offering enhanced maneuverability and ease of parking.

The L6 is also the pioneering the use of the mass-produced fast-charging semi-solid-state battery with a capacity of up to 133 kilowatt-hours. This allows the sedan to achieve more than 1,000 kilometers of range under the CLTC cycle on a single charge.

Thanks to the 900-voltage platform, the model can achieve a peak charging power of 400kW, allowing it to charge 400 km in just 10 minutes. Coupled with the silicon carbide motor, the four-wheel-drive model can accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in just 2.74 seconds, with a top speed of up to 268 km/h.

In terms of hardware, the L6 is equipped with the Nvidia OrinX and Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 smart cockpit chip.

The sedan measures 4,931 millimeters in length, 1,960 mm in width and has a wheelbase of 2,950 mm.

CEO Liu Tao announced the model’s pre-sale price range is between 230,000 yuan ($31,809) to 330,000 yuan. Within 23 hours since the pre-sale event, the L6 has received more than 10,000 orders, according to the company.
