Jinan's annual data output reached approximately 102 EB (Exabyte), accounting for 23 percent of the total output in Shandong province, placing the city among the top 10 in the national digital ecological index in 2023, according to a news conference on March 14.

Jinan recently commenced construction on 141 government information projects including digital policing, fully established the "1+4+N" construction system, which focuses on the construction of digital Jinan, and efforts are being made to promote development in four core areas: digital organizations, digital government, digital economy, and digital society. This encompasses various real-world applications, including digital discipline inspection, digital organization work, digital legal governance, digital united front work, and digital epidemic prevention, said Zhang Xi, director of the Jinan municipal bureau of big data.

In addition, the city's overall intelligent governance framework was completed, and the integrated security operation center for government cloud services was put into operation, Zhang added.

In 2023, Jinan made several achievements in the development of digital infrastructure, including the unveiling of the Inspur integrated big data center, the designation of 12 data centers as provincial-level pilot status of new-type data centers at the 4A level or above, and the 7th highest intelligent computing power in the nation.

Jinan's achievements in digital governance construction in 2023 included the comprehensive implementation of mobile offices for government employees, the issuing of 120 electronic certificates, such as resident identity cards, business licenses, and educational certificates, which are available for online inquiry and use, and making 30 essential public services, including housing provident fund withdrawals, accessible online.
