China ready to safeguard its rights against unfair global market practices

On Thursday, China stressed that it will take all necessary measures to resolutely safeguard its legitimate rights and interests after the Committee on Energy and Commerce of the United States House of Representatives has passed a bill that could see TikTok banned in the US.
"We have taken note of this move," said He Yadong, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Commerce, during a weekly news conference held in Beijing.
The commerce official said that the US should adhere to the principles of a market economy and fair competition, cease the unwarranted suppression of foreign companies, and ensure an open, fair, just and non-discriminatory environment for companies from all countries to invest and operate in the US.
Additionally, relevant parties must rigorously abide by Chinese laws and regulations, he added.
