More than 150 representatives from Singaporean businesses and professional organizations participated in a roadshow to build Shanghai into an international consumption center held in Singapore on Jan 29.

Shanghai will deepen collaboration with Singapore, facilitating market opportunities and growth prospects for enterprises in Singapore, said Zhu Yi, deputy director of the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce, which co-host the event themed "Invest in Shanghai, Share the Future" with the People's Government of Pudong New Area.

Considering the comprehensive partnership between the two sides, Zhu outlined plans for cooperation in various fields, such as business services, financial services, digital economy, and technological innovation.

The roadshow placed significant emphasis on showcasing Shanghai's robust policy support in propelling urban renewal, establishing the consumption center city, and constructing the pilot zone for Silk Road e-commerce cooperation. Detailed presentations were provided by district officials, elaborating on their specific regional development initiatives.

Yang Chao, executive vice-governor of Pudong New Area, underscored the strategic location advantages and pioneering institutional opening-up of China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone, which is located in Pudong. These achievements, highlighted by Yang, are poised to shore up confidence among a wider spectrum of overseas investors.

Additionally, professional service providers shared their valuable experiences in supporting Singaporean companies investing in Shanghai.

During the visit to Singapore, the Shanghai delegation also met with other government institutions and renowned Singaporean corporations.
