Despite disastrous flooding, Fangshan sees record GDP growth


Gao Wujun, deputy head of Beijing's Fangshan district and member of the 14th Beijing Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, said on Saturday that despite a flooding disaster in summer, the district has realized the goal of 4.5 percent of GDP growth last year.
He added that some economic indicators of Fangshan even rank among the best in Beijing. "Industrial growth rate ranks the fifth, and information and software industry growth rate ranks the first."
This year, Gao will submit the three proposals to promote the transformation of scientific research achievements in Fangshan university towns, establish innovation industrial clusters, and incorporate Fangshan international innovative medical center into the Beijing medical association
"We not only want to finish reconstruction work after the flood but also want people know that we will achieve comprehensive development in the new year," Gao added.
On Saturday, the 14th Beijing Municipal Committee of the CPPCC held its second plenary session in Beijing.
