As internet has increasingly become a new growth impetus for economic development, greater efforts are needed to bolster technological innovation, unleash the value of data resources, and deepen the integration of digital economy and real economy, shared Xu Xiaolan, vice-minister of industry and information technology.

Xu made the remarks via video link at the fourth China Internet Infrastructure Resources Conference held in Beijing on Tuesday.

She said the ministry is stepping up efforts to accelerate the construction of digital infrastructure; bolster the application of next-generation information technology; and promote the digital, intelligent and green transformation of the real economy.

Liu Yulin, director of the China Internet Network Information Center, said new industrialization has put forward higher requirements for internet infrastructure resources in terms of intelligent operation and maintenance, security and credibility, and collaborative governance.

Chen Jiachun, deputy secretary-general of the Internet Society of China, said internet infrastructure resources are becoming the cornerstone of digitalization and intelligence, and playing an increasingly important role in internet and economic development.

Chen called for more efforts to propel technological advancement, improve the accuracy of data in internet infrastructure resources and further strengthen the compliance of such resources.
