Chinese commerce minister meets with Japanese minister in US

Chinese Commerce Minister Wang Wentao met with Japanese Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Nishimura Yasutoshi in San Francisco, the United States on Tuesday, according to a statement released by the Ministry of Commerce on Thursday.
The two sides agreed to establish a dialogue mechanism on export controls between the two countries, as well as a working group on optimizing the business environment to promote trade and investment cooperation, the statement said.
Wang exchanged views with his Japanese counterpart on issues such as the export controls of semiconductor manufacturing equipment and maintaining the stability of the industrial and supply chains.
The two sides also exchanged views on China's accession to the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for the Trans-Pacific Partnership, an international trade agreement, as well as supporting new members to join the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement.
