The 4th International 3E (employment, entrepreneurship and enterprise) Fair was held on Saturday at Gubei Civic Center in Shanghai, exploring new development paths for talents and speeding up their high-quality development in Changning district and in Shanghai.

Co-hosted by Changning District Talent Work Leading Group Office, Changning District Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, and Hongqiao Neighborhood, the event invited international talents, mentors and experts from various industries and fields to drive training camps, workshops and forums.

The annual fair has brought together nearly 300 multinational companies and local enterprises in Shanghai since 2020, providing approximately 1,200 job positions online and offline, attracting over 5,000 people to participate in job applications.

During the four years, the Social Entrepreneurship Competition attracted 236 participants from 57 countries and regions with 73 proposals in different fields. Participants in this year's competition also received a five-session startup program course.

The final round of the fourth annual Social Entrepreneurship Competition concluded on Saturday after two and half months of training and competition.

A total of six teams entered the final round, providing business plans such as the low-carbon environmental protection building materials, high-tech plastic recycling waste conversion and electronic equipment recycling trading platform.

"The journey won't be easy, but every idea and every pitch in the competition brings us one step closer to a sustainable world and an even better business environment in Shanghai, a place we call home," said Linda Painan, chairperson on The Expatriate Center.

"We also have invited job-seeking and entrepreneurial youths to join the 'Vitality in Hongqiao' Youth Innovation Talent Cultivation project, and hope that, through this program, we can continue to connect and cultivate various types of talent in work, life and community service, and to attract young talents to feed back into the international community, to participate in various public services," said Guo Kai, Party secretary of the Hongqiao Neighborhood.

In the themed forum, five guests held a roundtable discussion on the theme of "promotion of talent culture in the new era" to explore the possibilities of transforming challenges into opportunities by embedding a culture of talent introduction, cultivation and nurturing into the employing organizations.

Shanghai Municipal Party Committee Organization Department, Shanghai Municipal People's Government Information Office and Shanghai People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries also supported the event.
