Hangzhou celebrates 20th anniversary of Double-Eight Strategy

A themed exhibition focusing on the 20th anniversary of the implementation of the "Double-Eight" Strategy opened on Friday at the Zhejiang Exhibition Hall in Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang province.
This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Double-Eight Strategy -- a development strategy proposed by Xi Jinping in 2003 when he was Party secretary of Zhejiang, in which he listed the province's eight advantages and eight areas of development in light of these advantages. Included in this list were ideas such as fully implementing the "lucid water" concept and collaboratively pushing forward high-quality development and environmental protection in the province, in an effort to improve residents' livelihood through highly efficient governance and management.
Covering 4,500 square meters, the exhibition highlighted the splendid changes that Zhejiang has seen over the past 20 years thanks to the implementation of the strategy.
